Bloggers New Statistics Feature

It does seem as though Blogger is trying really hard to be as good as Wordpress and who knows maybe in time they will get even better. In the meantime, I’m not complaining one bit, as I use their tool and I’m too lazy to leave Blogger anyway. I figured I'll just do a quick post on the new cool feature brought to us by Blogspot courtesy of Google Analytics!

I’m a lover of analytics and data, maybe it’s the Mathematician in me (I know I don’t love data analysis as much as some people!), so when I got the Blogger update on the new feature where Stats are now available right on the dashboard, I was curious and a little excited. Here are some of the reasons for my excitement:

• I won’t have to log into Google Analytics for my simple stats checkup any more. 
• People who can’t be bothered to register for Google Analytics don’t need to any more because everything is right there for them! 
• And my personal favourite, it records data, wait for it… Real Time. That’s right! It means that literally as people are visiting your website, it’s updating all your information! 

These are some of the things I’ve come across since I had a glance at it. In my next post, I’ll take a more in-depth look at it and possibly get some screenshots of my data, and compare it to Google Analytics, to find out how accurate it is. I’m pretty sure as with new things from Google, it won’t be perfect, but I’m sure it’ll get there with time. Watch this space!
